Philosophy
I’m running to be your next State Representative to fight for the things that matter most to you, the people of Wyoming and Byron. My experience and success as an elected official is build on trust. I’ve earned my reputation for listening to the taxpayers and for making the tough decision.

I am proud to be the only Pro-Life, Pro-Business Republican in this race with experience in public office. That experience is very important in these times of tight budgets and tough decisions. Because of this experience, Republican leaders from across West Michigan have endorsed my candidacy (link to endorsers) and I sincerely appreciate their confidence in me. They know I will be your voice in Lansing.

West Michigan Values

  • Faith, family and community are important to all of us. You can count on me to defend our West Michigan values.
  • I believe in less government regulation and red tape.
  • I believe we are taxed too much and that government should be efficient at every level.
  • I believe private property owners have rights and those rights deserve the respect of policy makers.
  • I will promote personal accountability and empower those in need.
  • I believe first-class public safety is essential to a strong community. I fought to fund our police and fire services and I will bring that fight to Lansing.
  • I believe Detroit gets too much of our tax dollars. We need to bring some of that money back from Detroit and put it to work in Wyoming and Byron.
  • The second amendment of the United States Constitution provides the freedom for every citizen to bear arms and I will protect your right to protect yourself.
  • Businesses face too much government interference. I’ve worked hard to earn the trust of business leaders and no other candidate enjoys a better relationship with businesses Wyoming and Byron.
  • I clearly see that health insurance prices have spiraled out of control. Many seniors, small businesses and other hard-working people can no longer afford coverage for their families. As Councilmember-at-Large and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, I’ve met with far too many people who are struggling. So I will fight for incentive based systems such as Medical Savings Accounts to help people save and prepare for the future. Controlling health care and prescription drug costs will be a top priority.
  • As the son of two, longtime educators, I truly believe one of the most important parts of our community is quality education. We need choices and accountability because our children deserve the best and I will make sure our tax dollars go directly to the classroom.
